After Space Marine 2 Trygon update, fans report not working matchmaking and connection issues
Players report connection issues and not working matchmaking after the latest SM2 patch. It seems that the recent changes may be at fault.

While the peak of hoped for the horde mode, it seems though that the most substantial changes introduced with it are a new PvE mission and The Inferno Pistol, as well as awaited by many Space Wolves cosmetics (though it is a separate buyable DLC). However, there is one more tweak that seems to be quite troublesome for players and unnoticed by many. Numerous people report connection issues and not working matchmaking. The problem may be caused by the update itself.
SM2 Trygon update changes how matchmaking works
Why do we believe that matchmaking may be broken because of SM2 The Trygon update? The reason is simple – it changed a little bit in how this system works. In the patch notes we can find information that there were two key improvements:
- Class-based matchmaking in Operations mode
- Experimental skill-based matchmaking and team balancing in Eternal War mode
Taking this into consideration, it is not impossible that something has been broken due to the implementation of these new features. For one, players using common classes can have difficulties in finding matches, as there is more competition for each slot. The same may go with PvP, as the matchmaking is pickier now.
Of course, tweaking with such key systems could cause some purely technical malfunctions, like connection stability, which also explains the issues. While these are only speculations and we have to wait for the official announcement, they seem quite plausible. Regardless of the source of the problems, let’s hope that they will be fixed soon.
