- Danish developer Playdead is creating another game - but this time, instead of a linear platformer, we will get an open-world adventure game;
- The title will be published by Epic Games Publishing and powered by Unreal Engine.
Danish company Playdead, an independent developer and publisher of video games, is looking for developers who could help it with a new project. Based on job Inside.
The creators describe their title as an open-world third-person adventure game. It's a brave move, considering that abandoning linearity by a small studio always entails a certain risk of failure. The work will be an SF game.
It appears, however, that the Danish developers are expanding their horizons when it comes to forming serious collaborations with industry peers. Their untitled project will be published by Epic Games, and will use the technology created by the latter - Unreal Engine. This was to be expected, given that some time ago Inside was given away for free at EGS as part of Holiday sale.
At this point we don't even know the game's expected release date, all we know is that it will be released on several platforms, so PC and next-gen consoles come to mind right away. Playdead also usually makes sure that its games appear on Nintendo Switch.
