like those from last year, about a supposedly developing open-world shooter. We do have new info now.

An article was published on the Korean Asia Today, in which we read that four major developers are competing with each other for the rights to develop a new game in the StarCraft universe. These are:

  1. NCSoft - known for Aion;
  2. Nexon - Vindictus: Defying Fate;
  3. Netmarble - Lineage 2: Revolution;
  4. Krafton - The Callisto Protocol.

Furthermore, some of these companies had even managed to go to Blizzard's HQ to present their proposals. These are to include various genres, including RPGs and shooters.

Blizzard is still carefully selecting a potential partner by analyzing the development skills, game publishing experience, and marketing abilities of the candidates. Choosing the right studio is crucial, that's why every company presents detailed proposals and operational plans.

If the contract is finalized, it might greatly impact the future of the StarCraft brand. So there is nothing left to do but wait for the official announcement.
