Gameplay

Grit and Valor: 1949 is a dynamic strategy in which we gradually move around the world map, playing each mission on small boards. The limited field of action means that battles take place at a fast pace. We are forced to constantly react to the movements of opponents.

The game gives us access to mechs that face similar machines, as well as armored vehicles, defensive turrets and infantry. Each unit has a different set of skills (including a jump that allows for quick position change) or arsenal (choices include artillery, machine guns or flamethrowers). To fully use the potential of each weapon, it is necessary to place the units tactically, including using the terrain to gain an advantage over the Axis forces. This task is be complicated by rivals who have a numerical advantage and regular reinforcements.

During the game we collect scrap, which allows us to upgrade individual elements of each mech. In this way, we can influence the weapons, armor, engine, legs or cockpit of the machines. This in turn translates into the speed and durability of units, as well as the effectiveness of fire from a high position, rapid fire or the chance to inflict critical damage. We also influence mech pilots by developing their special skills for the Valor points they receive.
