Halo 5: Guardians is the fifth main chapter in the sci-fi FPS game series, one of the cornerstone franchises released on the Microsoft company’s consoles. This installment was developed by 343 Industries and is the first game in the series tailored specifically for Xbox One performance.

Story-wise, the game continues the plot introduced in Halo 4 in 2012, which followed the now famous John-117, commonly referred to as Master Chief. In the fifth part, however, he is not the only playable character. When an unexpected attack on a human colony shakes the foundations of peace yet again, humanity discovers that their hero has seemingly vanished without a trace. The game introduces a new protagonist: Jameson Locke, officer-gone-Spartan featured in the Halo: Nightfall live action series, whose objective is to find Master Chief and solve the mystery that threatens the entire human race.

That's the kind of story about Master Chief that I like. He knows what the odds are, and he keeps attacking anyway, taking the fight to enemy. Instead, we get a story about betrayal and an ultimate showdown. But that showdown isn't that satisfying, and it's not even what Microsoft promised in some of its earlier commercials. I was disappointed because I expected something really significant to happen in the ending, and all I got was a cliffhanger.
