A unique RTS, in which instead of traditional units we control various parts of the body of a growing alien. Moduwar forces us to manage resources and the "organ tree". We can use the organs remotely to implement tactics such as flanking, distraction or quick position change.

Moduwar is an independent project by Biohex Studios that has been in development for a decade. In this real-time strategy game with FMV recordings, we command Modu, an alien life form resembling a squid.

Gameplay

The alien controlled in Moduwar is simultaneously a unit, an army, and a base. Expansion begins from the heart, which is the creature's core. Growing in water, we cultivate new organs, such as acid-spitting glands, electric or freezing ones, eye bulb stems or cutting tentacles. These bodily modules can be combined and divided into many units by us, without ceasing to constitute one living organism.

We fight against technologically advanced humans and cruel aliens called Chimeras. Instead of "producing" new combat units in our base and sending them, we literally regenerate parts of Modu's body on the battlefield. We equip the segments with mouths for melee attacks, turrets for ranged combat, or brains for reinforcements. We use remotely controlled devices to implement complex tactics, such as flanking, distraction, or rapid position change.
