A spin-off of to the popular tower defense game series, depicting rivalry between the eponymous plants and hordes of zombies. Developed by the creators of the franchise, PopCap Games studio, the production is recommended for those who love humorous, fast-paced gameplay combining elements of strategy with third-person action. We control a selected plant and try to protect our defensive structures against incoming hordes of enemies.
Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare for PC, PS4 and etc. is a spin-off of the hit series of tower defense games which are most popular among customers from the casual market. This time, the developers from PopCap Games addressed their product to the players who prefer gameplay focused on more dynamic action.
As in previous games in the series, the main theme of Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare is a battle between plants and hordes of zombies that threaten the world. Various species of flora forces to deal with the undead.
In contrast to the main games of the cycle, the gameplay in Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare for PC, PS4 and etc. combines elements of tower defense games, action games, and TPP shooters. The player takes control over the actions of a selected plant, and his task is to build defense turrets (in the form of slightly smaller plants) and fighting off enemies advancing from different directions, among which there are also bosses which are particularly difficult to eliminate, such as disco-zombies or gargantua- zombies.
The gameplay is focused on dynamic battles and cooperation, in which at the same time four players can participate. The key to winning often is using special skills of each plant, for example, garlic can float over the board, and sunflower can heal other plants.
As far as technical side of the game is concerned, it is powered by the Frostbite 3 engine, used in such productions as Battlefield 4 and Star Wars: Battlefront. It provides a high-quality three-dimensional graphic design, which in the case of Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare for PC, PS4 and etc. is maintained in a cartoonish style.

Game Ratings for Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare Video Game.
Destructoid: 8 / 10 by Chris Carter
With a few more tweaks, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare would be a must-buy for pretty much any shooter fan out there. But even with its blemishes, I was incredibly surprised by the amount of depth the game has to offer on top of all of its charm. Hopefully EA will ease off the microtransactions in the future and even more content will pile in, because with the right moves and , Garden Warfare will be something special for quite some time.
GamesBeat: 65 / 100 by Andrew Podolsky
I wanted to love Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare with the same zeal I have for the original series, but this shooter variation lacks a lot of imagination. The action gameplay generally feels forced, and the bits of strategy that do exist are minute in comparison.
Eurogamer: 8 / 10 by Jon Denton
It never hits the heights of Battlefield in its pomp, Call of Duty at its slickest or Titanfall in its explosive beta, but at its best Garden Warfare stirs the same emotions; the panic, the triumph, the tension and the elation. Whether anyone will stick with it once the Titans Are Ready is unsure, but PopCap has overachieved and delivered one of the most likeable games on next-generation hardware anywhere. Quite simply, I dig it.
