Release Date: December 6, 2007
A sequel to the unusual fighting game, Super Smash Bros., from 2001, which was one of the most popular productions released for the Nintendo GameCube console.
A continuation of one of the most popular GameCube games, namely Super Smash Bros. Melee. Like its famous predecessor, Super Smash Bros. Brawl for Wii is a very unique fighting game, with battles taking place on multilevel arenas, and featuring many special items that can help in achieving victory. Also, forget about “serious” martial arts – the game has more in common with a platformer, although the characters possess unique attacks and special moves.
Among available characters there are some known from other games released in recent years. While most of them belong to Nintendo’s other franchises, there are some exceptions. You will meet the famous plumber Mario, Link from Metal Gear Solid.
Interestingly, the creators of the game decided that taking advantage of the 3D-motion detection featured offered by Wii’s controller isn’t top priority, which allowed them to simplify the controls, making the gameplay more arcade. One of the best things about Super Smash Bros. Brawl is its multiplayer mode. Thanks to the online options provided by the console, the title enables a pair of players to duel across the globe.
Obviously, the Wii version offers much better visuals, compared to the previous game, making title is one of the prettiest productions available for Nintendo's new console. What is even more splendid, however, is the audio – the main theme accompanying fights has been composed by Nobuo Uematsu, the composer renowned for having created soundtracks for several installments in the Final Fantasy series.
