Release Date: November 17, 2017
A special edition of the fifth installment in the popular RPG series by Bethesda, created for VR headgear and motion controllers. The plot of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR does not differ from that in the original version of the game. The story takes place in a fantasy world, which is threatened by dragons, led by Alduin.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR for PC and PS4 is a special version of the fifth installment of Dragonborn.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR takes place in a fantasy world—to be exact, in the province of Skyrim of the Empire of Cyrodiil on the continent of Tamriel. You play as the last Dovahkiin, a being that can speak dragon language. The winged beasts are back, led by the dragon god Alduin, the World-Eater. To the people of the North, the protagonist is the last hope of stopping the oncoming apocalypse.
You start The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR for PC and PS4 by creating your character—you chose their race and sex, and customize their appearance. Unlike in the previous installments of the franchise, you do not have to choose a character class. Instead, during the game you develop certain skills of your protagonist and three basic statistics: magic, stamina, and health. Apart from conventional abilities, the game features the so-called Shouts—powerful spells unlocked with the souls of the dragons you defeat after you find ancient words scattered all over the province. Of course, your overall performance is also affected by your weapons and armor.
The key aspect of the game is exploration of the vast and open world, which consists of frozen wastelands, cities, towns, and claustrophobic undergrounds. Some locations are full of enemies, which you fight in real time, using both of the protagonist's hands—in each hand you can wield a one-handed weapon, shield, or a spell. Of course, you can also use a two-handed weapons (like a hefty warhammer) or a ranged one, such as a bow. The combat system is what has most changed compared to the standard editions of the game—you aim by moving your head, and attack by using PlayStation Move motion controllers, which transfer your moves onto your character.
The gameplay is driven by main quests and optional quests given to you by NPCs, both common citizens and representatives of certain factions. To ensure the right course of the gameplay, a special system makes sure that the enemies you encounter are scaled accordingly to your level.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR is based on the Special Edition, released in 2016. Compared to the original game, Special Edition features improved lighting, higher resolution textures, and various visual effects, such as a dynamic depth of field.

Game Ratings for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR Video Game.
Game Revolution: 3.5 / 5 by Jason Faulkner
Maybe one day we'll play an Elder Scrolls game that's built for VR natively, but for now, Skyrim VR is the next best thing.
Critical Hit: 7.5 / 10 by Geoffrey Tim
The added perspective brings Skyrim's immense scale to life, giving the 6-year-old game a renewed vigour. As incredible as it is, it's just not the sort of game that really benefits from VR. Skyrim's made to be played for long sessions, but most people can only tolerate VR for shorter bursts.
Gaming Nexus: 9 / 10 by John Yan
I really loved playing Skyrim with my HTC Vive and even with the bugs that it has, the game's great fun. Add in a bunch of mods to really up the game.
